GM CIO Mott explains IT transformation in 2nd issue of automotiveIT Executive Newsletter

German business news publisher Media-Manufaktur has launched the second issue of its new international newsletter, featuring an exclusive interview with General Motors CIO Randy Mott.

In the newsletter, Mott explains how he is radically changing the US carmaker’s IT operations by bringing most services in-house and refocusing his divisions on innovation.

The newly launched monthly Executive Newsletter contains premium content on the topics of information technology and its application within the automotive industry. It expands the global franchise of the German publishing group, which publishes several magazines and Websites covering the interconnected spheres of IT and the automotive industry.

The newsletter offers exclusive interviews and articles that expand the content of the news portal automotiveIT.com. It also features selective news stories and interviews from German-language issues of the award-winning magazines automotiveIT and carIT.
The first – complimentary – issue of the newsletter opened with an interview with Mattias Ulbrich, CIO at Audi. The current issue features, in addition to the interview with GM’s Mott, stories on social media in the US auto industry, a look at Google’s self-driving car and an update on Nvidia’s role in changing automotive infotainment. In December, the newsletter will talk with Paul Mascarenas, Ford’s chief technology officer, about the connected car and other issues.

“The combination of top stories in the Executive Newsletter should give automotive and IT industry executives a range of new insights into some of the most important challenges and opportunities in today’s business environment,” says Media-Manufaktur”s Managing Director, Dominik Ortlepp.

“In this issue we look at, among other things, insourcing versus outsourcing, cloud-based services, autonomous driving and social media. Those are all issues that are redefining IT in the auto industry.” adds editor in chief Arjen Bongard, who is responsible for the daily and monthly mix of news stories.

The automotiveIT publications target IT executives who provide services to the auto industry as well as automotive executives managing the sharp increase in IT requirements within their core business. AutomotiveIT carefully selects the issues most important to all these readers.
