Stratodesk announces Partnership with Desktone

Emanuel Pirker, CEO of Stratodesk (www.stratodesk.com)

San Francisco, CA, 04/10/2012 – Stratodesk, Corp. (www.stratodesk.com), the leader in PC repurposing and thin computing, today announced that it is partnering with Desktone, the pioneer of cloud-hosted Desktops as a Service (DaaS) to bring a cloud version of Stratodesk”s VDI OS and Management solution, NoTouch Desktop, to Desktone customers. Desktone selected Stratodesk for its flexible and scalable OS that replaces Windows on local desktops, offering an easy way to manage and monitor physical client networks. This alternative to a local Windows installation will be immediately available to Desktone customers.

“The primary reasons enterprises are moving to cloud-hosted virtual desktops are the cost and complexities associated with traditionally deployed VDI,” said Peter McKay, CEO of Desktone. “Desktone offers an affordable alternative to VDI with desktops delivered from the cloud. And our partnership with Stratodesk enables us to continue to deliver a virtual desktop solution that is easy to deploy and manage, making it simple for any business to realize the efficiencies of virtual desktops.”

Stratodesk”s NoTouch Desktop solution requires a one-time download, and is installed on the customer”s PCs and thin clients. It is completely hardware and vendor agnostic and can be installed easily and hassle free on all x86 hardware. NoTouch Desktop includes a native desktop client that instantly connects to Desktone.

“Desktone customer”s will save a lot of time and money with a Stratodesk partnership,” explains Emanuel Pirker, CEO of Stratodesk. “Our small, 180meg OS replaces their local Windows, saving them from the licensing costs associated with the local unmanaged OS. Also, NoTouch comes with a management suite called NoTouch Center, which allows administrators to quickly and easily install, monitor and update their endpoint clients with our underlying OS, NoTouch Receiver. And since Desktone”s native client integrates directly with our OS, customers can easily connect to the Desktone cloud and instantly benefit from the cloud hosted, cost effective VDI.”

Stratodesk and Desktone will host a free webinar presenting the solution to Desktone customers on April 24 2012. For more information and registration go to https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/943891566
